QUESTION:

How different decibels of music effects memorization?

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

The reason I am doing this experiment is because I am curious to know if different volumes of music has any effect on memorization. I like to listen to music at high volumes while I am studying. I hope to find out that I can continue to do this while at the same time still remember what I have been studying.

MATERIALS

  • Music
  • Speakers
  • 10 random words
  • Sound level recorder
  • 10 Human subjects
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Stop watch

OUTLINE

Introduction: The effects of memorization while listening to music at various decibel levels. This is relevant to me because I prefer to listen to music at high volume while I study and I want to see if that has any effect on my ability to memorize what I am studying.

Hypothesis: I believe the higher the decibel level the more difficult it will be to memorize the and remember the 10 random words.

Experimental Methods: The data is being collected by the number of words the 10 human subjects can memorize at certain decibel levels.

Conclusion:

  • What I have learned from the collected data?
  • How I can apply my results to better my study habits?
