Students for Environmental Awareness was created in 1993 for the purpose of educating the BW campus community and group members on environmental issues and promoting solutions to those issues.
SEA is affiliated with SEAC (Student Environmental Action Coalition). SEAC is the largest youth environmental organization in the United States and is committed to environmental and social justice.
SEA is branching out to include other fields of study within our activities. Annually, SEA sponsors Rock the Planet - an environmental event during Earth Week that brings regionally recognized bands to campus for a day-long concert series. In addition to environmental education on campus, SEA works closely with college administrators to change the recycling program on campus as well as implement an ink cartiridge drive inolving the campus departments. The organization is growing to include speakers from the Cleveland area and information on careers, internships, and current issues. In the past, the group has raised money to adopt at-risk animals housed in animal shelters and zoos across the country. |
