Jacket Crew Row-a-Thon
To benefit the Baldwin-Wallace College
Rowing Team and the Cleveland Rowing Foundation
When: April 4th and 5th
Where: TBA
One of the
fastest growing student organizations on campus, the Jacket Crew rowing club is
in dire need of new boats, updated equipment, and maintenance to our existing
boat. Since it’s inception in 2000, our group has served over 200 BW students.
The current roster of 24 is dedicated to the success of the team. As an
organization in its first stages, we lack the equipment necessary to be a
competitive team, despite the will and dedication by the squad. Currently, BW
owns one lightweight four person shell to accommodate all 24 rowers. For a team
of our size and talent, it is necessary that we have more boats to involve every
rower at on-water practices and to be ready to compete at regattas.
Each member will row continuously for an hour on an ergometer (rowing machine)
without break. We are asking that you sponsor a rower and give a donation based
on the distance that he or she rows in that hour. The average rower will row
11,000 meters in one hour. We are requesting a donation of $.20 per 100m to
sponsor a rower. That equates to a $22 contribution. To sponsor a rower please
fill out the form below:
The day of the Row-a-Thon, we will take pictures of your rower
throughout his/her sitting and email them over to you!
The following form is for BW Faculty and Friends/Family of rowers (or anyone
else!). Fill
out the boxes that apply to you.
