So, just who is this guy? My name is Randall Lingenfelter. Somehow you've stumbled across this page of mine. While I have you here, I might as well tell you a little about myself. Do jobs define who we are? Not really I guess, but I work at Baldwin-Wallace College in the town of Berea, Ohio. For just about three years now I have been working there as a database programmer. Sounds boring, right? Far from it actually! The college is great and the people and students there make it a great place to work. Plus I love working with computers, I never thought in a million years that I would be working at the same school where I took piano lessons at as a kid!
What else makes me...well, me? I had the chance to grow up playing ice hockey in the city of Brooklyn, Ohio. I still love to play, coach, and watch hockey whenever I get a chance. My family also helps to define who I am. I am the oldest of three boys. For grade school, I went to St. Thomas Moore in Brooklyn until about 3rd grade, when we then moved to Strongsville. After the move I attended St. Mary's in Berea. I next went to St. Ignatius High School, near downtown Cleveland. The college I chose to attend was the University of Dayton, where I majored in Computer Information Systems. I graduated from UD in 2000. Shortly after that I got my current job at B/W.
Music is a part of most everyone's life. I know I couldn't go one day without listening to something! I mainly listen to modern/alternative rock. Some of my favorite artists include Sloan, Filter, Pavement, Hum, Oasis, and The Chemical Brothers. I can't say I'm limited to that genre of music, but that's what I'm usually listening to. Lately, one of my favorite hobbies has been video editing. I usually have some recording of some tv show or movie that I am cleaning up via a computer, and trying to make it look better and compress it for viewing later. It's sometimes time consuming, but it's a lot of fun for me. I also like to customize the computers I build from scratch, which you can view on the "Computers" link. <sarcasm> I guess that's all there really is to me.</sarcasm> Just kidding, if you really want to get to know me better, just email me. rlingenf@bw.edu
