Just Noticeable Difference (jnd) for
Frequency
Interpretation
Remember that each pair of tones is repeated once. The actual
frequency changes are:
-0.5 Hz
+ 1 Hz
+2 Hz
-3 Hz
+4 Hz
It is useful to express these answers as a percentage. Since the first
harmonic (fundamental) frequency is 250 Hz, then 0.5 Hz/250 Hz = 0.002
= 0.2%, and so forth. Or, to express this in cents,
0.2% / 0.06% = 3 cents, etc..
