| Pierre
A. David is a Professor of Business Administration who teaches
marketing and operations management, particularly as these disciplines
are applied to an international environment.
Teaching
Dr. David’s primary teaching focus is the course in international
logistics that he teaches in the International MBA program. He has written
the best-selling textbook in that field, which is now available in its
second edition.
He also teaches several other courses in the Business Division in marketing
and operations management, as well
as introductory courses in business
administration.
In 1999, based upon student recommendations, he received the Bechberger
Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Research
Dr. David’s research is in statistics; he is part of a group of
faculty members at Kent State University who are doing very-large-scale
computer simulations (4 billion replications) to determine the sampling
distributions of specific statistics; they are currently working on the
sampling distribution of the sample median.
International Logistics Website
Professor David is responsible for the upkeep of the international-logistics.info
website. This website is a repository of the most recent information on
international trade pactices and a source of information for students
of international logistics and faculty teaching courses in international
trade.
Seminars
Pierre David has conducted international logistics training sessions in
the United States, France, Turkey, China and Brazil.
Education
Pierre David earned an MBA from
l'Ecole de Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord in Lille, France, an
MBA from the Katz Graduate
School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, and a PhD from
the College of Business Administration
at Kent State University, all of which were in marketing and operations
management. He has lived in four different countries (Tunisia, Switzerland,
France, and the United States) and visited a dozen more.
