A creation of long-running WCLV "Broadway Melody" host Bill Rudman, the cabaret-style review is subtitled "The Social Conscience of the American Musical." Rudman has culled his selections from a list of more than 270 songs that he dubs "the tip of the iceberg." --THE JEWISH NEWS February 27, 1998
Onstage, Rudman is joined by pianist Larry Hartzell and a quartet of vivid young singers, some from the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music. --THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER March 5, 1998
Victoria Bussert (Coordinator of Baldwin-Wallace College's Music Theater program) directed Bill Rudman's "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?" which was music directed and arranged by Lawrence Hartzell (Baldwin-Wallace College, music theory and music theater) as part of the Great Lakes Festival educational series. The musical review was nominated for Northern Ohio Live's 18th Annual Awards of Achievement under the Popular Music/Jazz category. --NORTHERN OHIO LIVE September 1998
