DATA: [Review of a concert by the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Ifor Jones, conductor, with the Moravian Trombone Choir, and members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, on 16 May 1942, as part of a two-day Bach Festival, at Packer Memorial Chapel, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The concert included performances of Bach cantatas no. 19 (Es erhub sich ein Streit), 146 (Wir müssen durch viel Trübsal), and 180 (Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele), the motet, 'Komm, Jesu, komm' (BWV 229), the Magnificat, BWV 243, and part 4 of the Weihnachtsoratorium. Performers included T. Edgar Shields (organist), Gretchen Newhart Iobst (pianist), Ruth Diehl (soprano), Saida Knox (contralto), Hardesty Johnson (tenor), and Mack Harrell (baritone). The review appeared in the New York herald tribune on 16 May 1942]
